Owner, Matthew Mason, knew he wanted to create a warm, inviting environment for families and friends to enjoy all social occasions. He discovered a building out of use on Ingrave Road, Brentwood, The Fountains Head. This building became his project in October 2000. By April 2001, Masons was established, and guests were being welcomed through the doors. Even now, after 25 years, Masons has become a firm favourite locally and in the surrounding areas for dining and celebrations.
Matthew knows a large part of our success has been due to our Family Ethos, and he strives constantly to invest in people. We pride ourselves in the longevity of our staff, with one member of staff who has been with us since opening night and the majority of key staff having joined us from either school or apprenticeships. Matthew endeavours to improve staff knowledge to ensure an impeccable dining experience.
The kitchens are overseen on a daily basis by Matthew, along with Adam and the team. Matthew works tirelessly to ensure we support local farmers and suppliers to make certain we are serving the finest quality in seasonal produce. Along with our state-of-the-art kitchens and exquisite dining room we can ensure our guests will receive dishes of the highest standard.
Luke, Matthew's son, is currently the general manager of our sister multi-award-winning restaurant, wedding venue and 5 gold star hotel, The White Hart, Great Yeldham, Essex. Luke has a wide knowledge in wine and spirits and works in unison with Matthew creating our extensive wine and drinks lists. Luke has created close partnerships with local wineries, microbreweries and distillers to bring new, exciting and most importantly, local products to the bar service.

We are very proud of the service provided by our long-standing Front of House team, led by General Manager Jay Ashmore, with us for 13 years, and Assistant Manager Angel Bain, with us for 4 years. Their meticulous attention to detail and personal touches for our guests are always noticed and greatly received.
